Commands

The core concepts guide expands the explanations shown by /maze help concepts, including cells, seeds, placement, and snapshots.

The main command is /maze; /mazeengine is an alias. All commands require mazeengine.use in addition to their action permission. Angle brackets indicate required arguments; square brackets indicate optional arguments.

CommandPurposeAction permission
/maze help [page]Open command helpmazeengine.use
/maze help concepts [page]Explain cells, geometry, seeds, snapshots, and related conceptsmazeengine.use
/maze create <name> [width depth] [options]Build a maze or confirm a matching active previewmazeengine.create
/maze preview <name> [width depth] [options]Create your private display previewmazeengine.preview
/maze preview stopClose your previewmazeengine.preview

/maze cancel <name>Request cancellation of active workmazeengine.cancel
/maze reloadReload configuration, messages, and presetsmazeengine.reload

Preview, teleport, guide, and spawn commands require a player. Creation supports console with explicit world and coordinates. Management actions also apply ownership checks.

OptionValueBehavior
--presetPreset identifierSelect a file from presets/; default is default
--seedSigned long integerFix the deterministic generation seed
--selectionFlagFit a WorldEdit or FAWE cuboid; omit dimensions and coordinate/world options
--worldLoaded world nameSelect the target world
--x, --y, --zIntegersFloor origin; all three must be supplied together
--path-widthInteger, 1–16Width of each walkable corridor in blocks
--wall-thicknessInteger, 1–8Thickness of separating and outer walls
--wall-heightInteger, 2–64Wall height above the floor
--complexityNumber, 0–1Derive generation biases from this value
--snapshotFlagCapture original terrain; requires WorldEdit or FAWE
--modeCLEAR, SAFE, or REPLACEOverride the preset’s placement policy

Flags have no trailing boolean value. Valued options take a separate argument, for example --seed -123. Duplicate options, unknown options, and missing values are rejected.

/maze create courtyard 21 15 --preset default --seed 42 --mode SAFE
/maze preview grove 13 13 --preset sakura --path-width 4
/maze create vault --selection --preset dungeon --snapshot
/maze create remote 11 11 --world world --x 100 --y 64 --z 200
OptionBehavior
No optionRebuild the full maze with its saved seed and graph
--seed <value>Generate replacement topology with a chosen seed
--new-seedGenerate replacement topology with a random seed
--repairRestore planned non-air structure blocks while preserving passage contents

--seed and --new-seed are mutually exclusive. --repair must be used alone. Regeneration always uses the maze’s saved preset and grid dimensions, even if the current preset file has changed.

/maze regenerate courtyard
/maze regenerate courtyard --new-seed
/maze regenerate courtyard --repair

Full regeneration writes planned air as well as structural blocks, so additions inside passage space may be removed. Repair skips planned air; additions occupying positions where the saved plan expects solid structure can still be replaced.

OptionBehavior
No terrain optionRestore when the record has a snapshot; otherwise clear
--restoreRequire the complete original snapshot and restore it
--clearClear the entire volume to air, even if a snapshot exists
--confirmSubmit removal immediately instead of issuing the confirmation panel

--restore and --clear cannot be combined. A recorded but missing snapshot causes restoration to fail; it does not silently fall back to clearing.

Normal deletion opens a confirmation that lasts 60 seconds. Its token is tied to the actor and exact record, preventing an old panel from deleting a changed replacement record.

/maze tp courtyard
/maze setspawn courtyard
/maze setspawn courtyard reset
/maze solve courtyard
/maze solve courtyard stop

setspawn records your position and view direction after verifying a safe destination. Resetting restores the default entrance destination. Teleport waits for the arrival chunk, rechecks record readiness and terrain safety, and then moves the player. The guide requires a ready maze in your current world.

/maze help opens this command browser. Hover for details, click a command to fill the input, or use Next for management commands.

See the chat interface gallery for captured examples of each panel.

Chat panels provide pagination, preset previews, management buttons, preview creation, guide closure, and deletion review. Hover text supplies extra detail. Permission-sensitive buttons appear only when the actor has the relevant rights.

build, confirm, dismiss, and session tokens support these callbacks. They are hidden from normal client suggestions and are not commands you need to compose manually. Console deletion prints a confirmation command because console cannot click the player chat panel.
