Connect Your Server
Open a Personal Session
Section titled “Open a Personal Session”- Join a server running FrameUI with
frameui.command.editor. - Run
/frameui editorand open the personal link in chat. - Keep the Minecraft account online while editing.
- Select or create a design and choose Import to server.
The default setup uses an outbound HTTPS connection and needs no inbound port. Standalone Studio has a Connect server action explaining how to obtain the personal link; opening the public website alone does not grant access to your server.
Personal links expire after 30 minutes. Running the command again replaces the previous capability. Keep the full link private. Revoking the editor permission also blocks an existing session.
Import a New Design
Section titled “Import a New Design”Editing a bundled animation or preset creates your own copy. Click Import to server to install the effect and its image. The server validates the definition, rebuilds its resource pack and applies the saved event bindings.
The imported effect appears under My Effects. Accept the refreshed pack and test /frameui preview <id>. Global filters, individual filters and cooldowns still apply.
Save an Existing Effect
Section titled “Save an Existing Effect”Open a custom server effect from My Effects. After editing, click Save to server. Changes remain a draft until that save succeeds.
Studio checks the current server revision before replacing a definition. If someone else changed it, reopen the latest server effect before saving. Export an unsaved draft first if you need to preserve it. Do not repeatedly retry a stale save expecting it to overwrite another change.
Events and Availability
Section titled “Events and Availability”Events → When to play selects joins, teleports and world changes. Plugin events shows optional integration states. In-game controls filters and destination restrictions. A design may save successfully yet be ineligible for a particular player or event.
See Automatic Playback and Filters and Selection.
Delete a Custom Effect
Section titled “Delete a Custom Effect”Use the delete action on a custom effect and review the Delete permanently? confirmation. Confirming deletes the server effect when connected; it is not simply a local catalog hide. Export a backup before deleting a design you may need again.
If the Connection Stops
Section titled “If the Connection Stops”Check that your player is online, the permission remains granted and the link has not expired. Generate a replacement link for an expired session. The server requires outbound HTTPS access for the maintained connection.
Connected saves and relay pack delivery depend on relay availability. The relay forwards effect and pack data in memory; it does not persist them. Standalone editing and ZIP export remain available without a live server connection. See Troubleshooting.
