Gameplay Overview

Santa Says is a fast-paced Minecraft minigame designed for high-energy competitive servers. It combines quick reflexes, attention to detail, and holiday cheer into an intense battle for the top score.

Easy to learn but hard to master, the game keeps players engaged through rapid-fire rounds and dynamic scoring mechanics.

A standard match consists of 15 intense rounds. In every round, players are presented with a random task selected from a pool of 44 unique challenges.

The objective is simple: Read the instruction, react faster than your opponents, and survive until the timer runs out.

  • Fast-Paced Action: No downtime. Rounds follow each other instantly to maintain player retention.
  • High Replayability: With 44 tasks and randomized ordering, no two matches feel exactly the same.
  • Competitive Scoring: A mix of participation and placement mechanics ensures that every second counts.

Understanding how to earn points is the key to victory. Not all tasks are created equal; the game dynamically switches between two scoring modes to keep players on their toes.

These tasks focus on survival and completion. They are designed to keep the lobby engaged.

  • Objective: Successfully complete the instruction within the time limit.
  • Reward: +1 Point for everyone who succeeds.
  • Strategy: Focus on accuracy. As long as you finish, you get the point.

These are high-stakes rounds where speed is everything. Only the fastest players are rewarded, creating intense “clutch” moments.

  • Objective: Be among the first 3 players to complete the objective (or perform the most actions, e.g., breaking the most snow).
  • Reward:
    • 🥇 1st Place: +3 Points
    • 🥈 2nd Place: +2 Points
    • 🥉 3rd Place: +1 Point
  • Strategy: Risk it all for speed. Being 4th place gets you 0 points.

Santa Says features a massive library of 44 unique tasks, categorized into different skill sets. You won’t just be running around; you’ll need to master various mechanics:

  • Precision & Reflexes: Tasks like Nod by looking up and down, Spin around, or Stand completely still require immediate reaction to chat commands.
  • Crafting & Management: Test your inventory skills by Filling your inventory, Removing specific items, or quickly crafting complex structures like an Iron Golem or Beacon.
  • PvE & Survival: Defend yourself by Killing animals, Curing a Zombie Villager, or efficiently Extinguishing yourself when set on fire.
  • Parkour & Movement: Navigate the arena to Jump into a specific portal, Climb a chimney, or Ride a pig off a platform.
  • Social Interaction: Fun, chaotic tasks that require interacting with opponents, such as Slapping a player with an item or Throwing snowballs.

After the 15th round concludes, the game calculates the final standings. The player with the highest total score is crowned the winner. In the event of a tie, the game logic handles the ranking based on internal tie-breaker rules (usually based on who reached the score first or total completion time).
