MythicMobs
MythicMobs Optional
Section titled “MythicMobs ”Available since Warden Party 1.8.9. Choose a MythicMobs mob as the base of any boss profile. Warden Party keeps the encounter’s hit counter, damage rankings, permissions, cooldowns, item filters, Phantom phase and reward commands.
MythicMobs supplies the mob and its skills. If the mob applies a ModelEngine model on spawn, that model is carried into the Warden Party encounter automatically.
Installation
Section titled “Installation”- Install Warden Party 1.8.9 or newer and a MythicMobs 5.x release compatible with your exact Minecraft and Java versions.
- If the mob uses a custom model, also install a compatible ModelEngine 4.x release, import the model and distribute ModelEngine’s generated resource pack to players.
- Restart the server so both integrations load before Warden Party.
- Create the mob definition below, reload MythicMobs with
/mm reload, and test it independently with/mm mobs spawn PartyBoss. - Set the Warden Party profile’s appearance to
MYTHICMOBS, reload Warden Party with/wp reload, then run/wp summon defaultin a non-peaceful world.
The integration uses the MythicMobs 5 API. Warden Party does not bundle either optional plugin or guarantee that every release of those plugins supports every Minecraft version.
Example MythicMobs definition
Section titled “Example MythicMobs definition”Create plugins/MythicMobs/Mobs/PartyBoss.yml:
PartyBoss: Type: WARDEN Options: Despawn: false PreventOtherDrops: true Skills: - model{mid=forest_guardian} @self ~onSpawnPartyBoss is the MythicMobs mob ID. forest_guardian is the ModelEngine model ID. Replace the model ID with one you have already imported. Remove the entire Skills section if you want a MythicMobs mob without ModelEngine.
The mob must produce a living Bukkit Mob, such as a Warden, Zombie, Skeleton or Phantom. Players, armor stands, display entities and other non-Mob bases are not supported. WardenParty remains the command and permission namespace even when the visible boss is a different creature.
Warden Party configuration
Section titled “Warden Party configuration”Merge this section into an existing boss profile; it is a partial configuration, not a replacement for the whole file:
wardens: default: appearance: type: MYTHICMOBS mythicmobs: mob-id: "PartyBoss" level: 1| Setting | Meaning |
|---|---|
appearance.type | MYTHICMOBS spawns the named Mythic mob. VANILLA restores a normal Warden. |
mythicmobs.mob-id | Exact internal mob key from the MythicMobs file, not its display name or model ID. |
mythicmobs.level | Finite number greater than zero. Controls MythicMobs level scaling; it does not replace Warden Party’s health counter. |
appearance.modelengine is ignored in this mode. Configure model mechanics and animations inside MythicMobs instead. For a model applied directly to a normal Warden, use the separate ModelEngine guide.
Combat and rewards
Section titled “Combat and rewards”Warden Party counts player melee and arrow hits against the registered base mob. Its configured health, item restrictions, cooldowns, permission checks and Phantom invulnerability still apply. Holograms, scheduled spawns, natural Warden replacements and leaderboard rewards also use the same boss profile.
The profile’s ai-enabled, speed-amplifier, attack-damage, scale and allow-movement settings are applied to supported base-entity attributes after MythicMobs creates the mob. For non-Warden mobs, chance-to-target uses the mob’s normal target API; Warden bases keep their anger behavior. Adjust offsets.name and offsets.hologram for the model’s height.
Additional mobs summoned by MythicMobs skills belong to MythicMobs. They are not Warden Party Phantoms and need cleanup rules in your skills. Likewise, a ModelEngine sub-hitbox bound to a separate Mythic mob is not automatically a separate Warden Party boss.
Reloading and cleanup
Section titled “Reloading and cleanup”Appearance changes affect newly spawned bosses. /wp reload leaves existing bosses alive; /wp reload --killWardens removes them while reloading. Boss defeat, admin removal and plugin shutdown remove the registered base and its associated model. If another plugin removes the base, Warden Party clears its encounter on the next update without granting defeat rewards.
Existing configurations do not need to be regenerated. Copy the appearance section into each profile you want to customize; profiles without it continue to spawn vanilla Wardens.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”| Symptom | Check |
|---|---|
| A normal Warden appears | Read the Warden Party console warning. Missing/disabled MythicMobs, an unknown mob ID, unsupported base type, invalid level or API error triggers a vanilla fallback. |
| The mob appears without its model | Test /mm mobs spawn PartyBoss, check ModelEngine’s model import and ~onSpawn mechanic, then verify the player’s resource pack. MythicMobs mode does not validate that a model was applied successfully. |
| The model shows vanilla items | Install the generated ModelEngine resource pack and accept it on the client. |
| A hit does not count | Check the base hitbox, item filters, hit permission, cooldown and Phantom phase. |
| The mob disappears early | Review MythicMobs despawn settings, environmental damage and skills that kill, replace or remove the base entity. |
